Ashanti Douglas, popularly called Ashanti was is born in Glen Cove New York United States on October 13th 1980. She's an actress and singer who hails from the United States. Ashanti became famous as an teen. In 2002, she was signed to Murder Inc. Records. The same year she also made an appearance in Fat Joe's What's Luv? song as well as Ja Rule's Always On Time track. Both of them became massive hits. In the year she debuted her debut single"What's Luv, at number two in the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and Foolish at #1 and Foolish as her first single, she was the only female to achieve this feat. On her first song, Foolish and Foolish, the DeBarge song Stay with Me that was recorded in 1983 is sung. Ashanti has released her debut album, which was titled "Ashanti", in 2002 on Irv Getti's Murder Inc. Record Label. The Declaration, Ashanti's fourth studio album, was released on 3 June 2008. Hey Baby, After the Club (released via radio and digital format) dropped on the 16th of October in 2008. She was in The Christmas in the City film as Latasha in Army Wives.
